to don or not to don.

we all know aladdin, even if we haven't seen the movie but once or twice, if at all. we all remember his monkey friend and the flying carpet. i remember those funny, billowy pants he always wore. to jog your memory, here's a snapshot: 

so why bring up aladdin, of all people--fictitious or otherwise--while in spain? well it has to do with fashion. and jiminy cricket, did that lad have style!! at least, according to many people, spaniards included. i don't think i've gone into a single clothing store that hasn't had their own racks and aisles of aladdin pants. there are also balloon pants, which are pretty similar. i think that the ever so stylish aladdin wore those as well. i mean, whoever did his laundry must have been up and at 'em each day to make sure aladdin's pants were billowy enough to don. 

i've seen scores of different types and styles of these pants. i'm almost at the point of buying a pair, for myself or friend x. if they were worn here, the wearer would fit right in with like, 25% of the crowd and be real stylish. in the united states? the land of the free? hahaha...i think it would be hilarious. but i doubt they'd be as accepted there. maybe as pajamas. at any rate, they are a bit of a laugh.
